Next, Broder shifts his focus back to Italy, as he walks Emma through the normalization of far-right political figures, from Berlusconi to Meloni, and how the growth of the clearly-fascist wing of the American GOP has given an excuse to ethnonationalists worldwide. Stepping back, Broder dives into how right-wing Italians are grappling with their country’s history with fascism, and the attempt to repaint their role during WW2 as victims of communist violence rather than oppressors aligned with the Nazis, before they wrap up the interview by looking deeper at Giorgia Meloni’s cult-of-personality and how her womanhood is used symbolize the greater eugenicist underpinnings of fascism. Amjad Iraqi then joins as he and Emma walk through the past few weeks of increasing genocidal violence against Palestinians in the West Bank city of Jenin. After tackling the significant escalation that Israel took by bombing the West Bank, Iraqi walks through the actual process of violence and settlement that occurred in Jenin, the toll on the Palestinian population, and the increasing violence of Israeli apartheid.
