Author Aaron Glantz (@Aaron_Glantz) joins us to discuss his new book, ‘Homewreckers: How a Gang of Wall Street Kingpins, Suckered Millions Out of Their Homes and Demolished the American Dream.’ The 2008 financial crisis saw countless Americans lose their homes while the banks that caused it suffered zero repercussions. Glantz outlines how crooks like Steve Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross caused the crash by preying upon the average American via poorly regulated financial products, and how the government then let them shift 100% of the blowback onto regular people. The alternate model set forth by FDR in which homes were saved. The story of Sandra Jolley, a consumer advocate who secured an $89 million whistleblower settlement on a reverse-mortgage foreclosure scheme by Mnuchin’s bank.
