Guests: Journalists Dan Froomkin and Glenn Greenwald

Happy Valentine’s Day! Sam’s present to the listeners is a show jam-packed with so many guests and so much information that is almost inappropriate to squeeze it all into one day.

Labor unrest continues in Egypt, though the Egyptian Army urges the strikes to end. The Egyptian military council calls on workers to play their role in reviving the economy after almost three weeks of turmoil.

Sam was on Virtually Speaking with Jay Ackroyd last night and discussed how, from a tactical standpoint, the internet was crucial to organizing the youth in Egypt.

Today’s first guest is Senior Washington Correspondent for The Huffington Post Dan Froomkin. He discussed the dueling budgets that were just released from the White House and Republicans; budgets that could only be labeled “bad” and “worse.” Items in the cross-hairs are Social Security, heating oil assistance, and poor people in general.

Next Sam welcomes Salon’s Glenn Greenwald to talk about “ChamberLeak” where the Chamber of Commerce is spying on liberals and how he got into the middle of it all.

Listen to the interview.

Notice! The Flip Side will be switching to Member’s Only mode in the next few days. When that happens (approximately Wednesday 2/16) all members will be sent an email about how to log in to see all the new features on tap. Sam uses a shortened post show to try not to spill the beans on what he bought his wife Nikki for her birthday today and takes IMs.

Please become a “member with benefits“ so you don’t miss the fun and frivolity of the post show!

Tomorrow Sam will talk to national affairs correspondent from The Nation William Greider and some comedian named Marc Maron.
