On the campaign trail in 2024, Donald Trump promised to end inflation on day one. But a year and a half into his administration, inflation is outpacing wage growth for the first time since 2023.

Lisa Xu, an organizer with Labor Notes, joins to follow up on her appearance last month when we interviewed her about the 3,800 meatpacking workers in UFCW Local 7 in Greeley, Colorado that launched the industry’s first major strike in 40 years. Workers won a wage increase and reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses spent on personal protective equipment.
