2/25 Fighting For A $15 Minimum Wage & Restoring the Postal Service w/ MR Crew

February 25, 2021

Sam and Emma take a look at some of the most important stories of the week including the parliamentarian’s ruling on a $15 minimum wage, fixing the USPS, and more.

On today’s show: Chris Hayes asks Bernie Sanders if Senate has votes for $15 minimum wage on up/down vote, Bernie laughs “no.” John Thune recounts making a wage in the ’70s, says it’s too much to raise wages to $15/hr, even though his wages in ’70s (adjusted for inflation) were higher than $15/hr. Ro Khanna explains why passing $15 minimum wage is not conditioned on parliamentarian ruling, “Be honest with folks.” Roger Marshall (R-KS) says he had a low wage job in HS and college and it helped him graduate debt free. DeJoy says he’s sticking around at post office til his work is done. After Jim Jordan says Democrats are hypocrites and Post Office is besieged by partisanship, Gerry Connolly explains how USPS was hamstrung by GOP appointments and political efforts. Former aide speaks out about how Cuomo sexually harassed her.

On the fun half: Asked if Trump should speak at CPAC, the GOP leadership is divided. Reopened Miami detention center for children is the same one where Kamala had her manufactured meme moment. One year ago today: Larry Kudlow claims “we have contained” the corona virus. Rep. Marie Newman (IL-03) gives floor speech on importance of passing the Equality Act. Marjorie Taylor Greene posts sign outside door saying there’s only two genders. Plus, your calls and IMs!
