Michael Brooks hosts Djene Bajalan (@djenebajalan), Assistant Professor of Middle East History at Missouri State University, to discuss the new revelations from John Bolton’s book and the similarities between Turkey’s AKP government and America’s GOP in terms of repressing dissent.

Djene Bajalan (@djenebajalan), Assistant Professor of Middle East History at Missouri State University, joins Michael to discuss the revelations in John Bolton’s book and the similarities between Turkey’s AKP government and America’s GOP in terms of repressing dissent. Deep state conspiracy theories and other commonalities between Trump and Erdogan. The use of state violence against protesters. How the HDP expanded from a Kurdish party to a broad social democratic party. Mike Flynn’s relationship to the Erdogan government. Astead Herndon tweet says Straka is fabricating his story.
