Sam Seder is back in the literal though not metaphorical shadow of the New York Times building in the fashionable Dollar Lunch District of New York City after spending a few days in Washington DC. And the topic goes straight to the big news of the weekend – the situation in Egypt.

Sam takes a good portion of the show to discuss some background information and some of the latest developments in Egypt; basically what you need to get up to speed on what is happening in Egypt.

On a site called Twiturn.com there are audio files in Jan25Voices that put audio files online from Egypt circumventing the shut down internet, allowing those in the streets a voice on the web. It is worth a listen.

Sam takes an aside to call out a book by Jared Diamond that he quotes from often called Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed.

Update: Egyptian military won’t crack down on protesters

Sam then moves on to domestic stories of the day.

Ayn Rand, the mother of Libertarians and anti-government, took Social Security and Medicare moneyWatch the outrage from the SammyCam!

Finally on today’s Post Show Sam takes listener IMs that leads him to hit topics like Jason Bateman, AAR’s Mark Green’s lack of brains, “We’re Still 70% Liberal,” Gallagher, and more post show names. Not sure how to IM Sam? We put together a quick “How To” on setting up Instant Messenger with the AIM Express app.

You still have a chance to name The Majority Report Post Show! Sam is close to making a decision and it seems he may be going towards a simple “Member’s Only” moniker. Hop over to this thread to nominate what you want this part of the show to be called or just vote for your favorite!
