April 6, 2012 · Majority Report

We’re on vacation but we have a great NEW interview for you.   MIT Applied Economics professor Daron Acemoglu discusses his latest book, Why Nations Fail:the Origins of Power, Prosperity & Poverty.  What are the sources of political and economic failure?  How do cultural values play into the success of nations and what role does the institution play?    What we need to do going forward given America is in a time of historic economic inequality.  Professor Acemoglu is also a member of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research Program on Institutions, Organizations & Growth.  Also, in the better half, members will hear Aaron Smith (@YI_Care), co-founder and executive director of Young Invincibles a group that looks to expand and protect access to Health Care for those 18-34.  Use this post as today’s thread.
